Can't seem to find the proper lug nut for these. Shouldered shank has to go thru the wheel. The hole is too small for any available shanked 14mm lug nut. I either turn down a shanked lug nut to fit, or drill the hole larger in the wheel. The first option isn't safe, the second option leave the wheels unusable for a VW, w/o using a custom lug to fit . These wheels were meant to go on a VW, not a 356. I did find some billet nuts, but they require a much longer stud...Oh boy.
Anybody using these on 356 drums ?

My American Eagles use 12x1.5 studs with mag nuts and washers for the flat area

Yes, you’re right. I posted this in the 356 forum, as they use a 14mm stud.
Thanks for taking the time sir.

i'm doing this right now on a 356A using American eagle five spokes. like you i thought about reaming the wheel out and so on. what i'm finally doing is to change the wheel studs in the drum to a Doorman 610-395 there easy to press out and in. this will give you the right knurl, length and a 1/2 x 20 thread. lug nuts are easy to find in this size. i don't have the part number right now if you measure the lug nut hole then search for 1/2 x20 with an o/d of what you want. you'll need washers also. when you measure for length don't get them to long you don't want them to bottom out on the drum before they tighten down on the wheel. if it goes 3/4 the way or so into the wheel your ok.

Thank you Jay for all the research and taking the time to post this. I just put new brakes on, and now realize I should have posted this earlier before I put it back together. I’ll look into all that and post back what I ended up doing. Thanks again sir.

Done and fronts installed.
Decided to not modify my drums, and instead reamed out the lug holes on the wheels. Then found the correct lug nuts, realizing the washers that came with those wouldn't work. Found some washers with the correct id/od and used those. Done deal. Plus I'll also be able to use these now on my bug....if the front tires fit ;(
