The factory hardtop is awesome, the aftermarket tops, like fiber fab or fiber jet suck.
Why.... The factory hardtop has built in attachment points the aftermarket don't. Mounting a Fiber Jet top involves drilling holes in the body or making a "Hoop" for the rear to attach to the body.
Also the aftermarket tops have no internal reinforcement and ad such the sag in the middle, forming a nice mini swimming pool.

How can you tell if the top is original or not?

Number of ribs?

Not sure of all the ways, but the factory ones have mounting areas on top for the optional luggage rack, no idea if non-factory ones did. Factory ones were all a sort of white color, but many, like mine have been painted over... They did have a part number near the inside front, but again, like mine, many were removed or painted over...

thanks for the offer. I didn't realize with the roll bar i have on it that a hardtop most likely would not fit. thanks for the offer! You should pt that up on here. You would get a nice buck for it as you know they arent easy to find especially on the east coast!

I have a factory hard top . Don't have the roof rack anymore thanks to hurricane Michael. The roof survived with minimal damage and I am thinking about selling it separately from my 73. Let me know if anyone is interested.
