Good point - I had suspected there might not be enough room for a tool head to fit in there between the blades. On the original you can see the casting marks from who knows how many parts to the mold. It really is a pretty complex part!
I wonder if the original fan shape (or even some kind of super advanced blade profile) could be achieved by flipping the workpiece and machining both sides? The cost would pretty much double though, I'm sure.. |
This piece does get machined from both sides. We are still refining the design to more closely match the original pulley. We had to make a prototype so we could get something in our hands and have a base to work from. _________________ Justin |

The stock ones do wear out for sure, the groove in one of mine is worn right through the V in some spots. It’s about time someone Cnc’d a replacement _________________ http://www.thesamba.com/vw/archives/manuals/jim_martin_engine_build.php

No sir. We’ve only made two prototypes so far. Still refining the piece, then will need tested. This is a slow process, unfortunately. I will keep this thread updated with its progress. Thanks for your interest! _________________ Justin |
