We just bought a '74 Thing, going thru the brakes and both rear drums have p/n 181501615A. Weird thing is one has beetle sized lug holes where the other has what look like bus sized holes. Could it be one is from an older Thing? Did they have RGB's at one point?

Normally bug sized but probably redrilled because of worn thread.
RGB's from fall1969 till march 1973. Drums are the same than the bus till 1963 but with bug thread. Cool

As 74 posted, M12x1.5 is stock, but it is very common to see them re-tapped for M14x1.5 because Thing drums can be expensive to replace.
Just confirm that the lug bolts are not too long (long enough to foul the brake parts as the drums rotate).

Good luck, Mondshine

Cool must have been stripped out then rethreaded. Lug bolts are def shorter than bus ones. Thanks everyone!
