I'm trying to install the trunk seal on the 54 I'm building my wife and the seal is kicking my butt. It's a Wolfsburg West seal and I can not get it to go with silicone spray and a plastic door tool.
Are there any tricks that may help or is there another supplier that makes one that fits better (maybe smaller)? I assume the WW seal would be factory size but I'm running out of ideas and I don't want to screw up the paint.

Thanks for any ideas / help out just sympathy if it's really this bad 😅

Have you tried stretching it? Sometimes that works to skinny it down.

Stretching sometimes helpes but if the diameter is too thick it will give trouble.
Original it's 3 mm, lots of aftermarket seals are 4 mm or even thicker. That makes it very hard to slide in even with baby powder or lubrication.

I bought some of WW C channels and they are not good either. Shape is not C shape but rather U shape so it does not capture the seal. Needs to be crimped down to work. The originals were C shaped.

Just not all good repops out there I guess. Old ones I bought like 40 years ago were too small and loose in the groove.

Wonder how WCM seals are?
