Didn't Jeep build a "Forward Control" running prototype a few years ago?

I guess they killed the idea due to limited crash protection. I though it was a really cool design.

I'm having a hard time imagining any space for legs or even people near the windshield given the space required for wheel wells, suspension and a motor, etc.

But - surely it'll be electric? A motor in each hub perhaps?

Prototype? Hell, they built an FC production model for years, and it was awesome. Has quite a following too. The "prototype" in '12 was just a throwback like VW has done with the splitty bus for years.

Okay, that's a start. Suspension will still consume a lot of space.

As long as we're forward thinking, collision avoidance systems will eliminate safety concerns and forward controls will be viable again.

Well, what does prototype mean anyway? I didnt think it went into production. Im not talking about the 60s one, unless a few years ago means 60 years

I was looking at importing logistics for a UAV a while back. They'd sell up here.

The first looks like it was made by a marketing intern who had never seen a car before.

Jeep did make a cab over pickup years ago. This concept doesn't look at all odd to me.

Also the iconic Jeep Grill? ........
That's a Ford design.

Google search for cab over jeep truck.....

That Jeep looks really familiar and not very original. Pinzgauer, anyone?

hodakaguy went from his Syncro build here to a Unimog to Toyota pick-ups and is now working on a Sprinter. The Unimog seemed to be the shortedt lived given its 55 mph top-speed and the need to have the family wear hearing protection. They have a specific purpose that doesn't apply to most folks.

The Jeep seven-slot grill is a Ford design? I didn't see that in your google link but I see it here. Thanks for that education.
