How to remove headrest?

On my 1990 the rear seat headrest have a little lever you depress
To release the headrests.

On my two seat center seat there is no lever or button to depress.
You can see part of a metal spring but there isn’t anything you can do with it.

Assuming the lever is broken off, how does one remove the headrests?

Dave,

Use a screwdriver to push the metal spring to one side it should pop out. On my '82 it looks like an oversized cotter pin that goes between the two "halves" of the plastic clip in the seat, and around the metal bar when inserted.

As well as the tubes inserted into the seat, where the clips go between the two halves of the round part at the end of the tubes.
