As-purchased (from a reputable Samba seller) and as-refinished (a nice sliver powdercoat; just picked 'em up from Shoreline Coatings LLC in North Branford, CT today). Will be getting some ebay-sourced budget white letter tires, 205/70R14 mounted up on them, and then try 'em out on my '70 Bug (red wheels presently on the car are some China 15x5.5 wheels from one of the "hot" parts houses, and tires are 195/60R15)...

Finally got the ebay-sourced (China mfg'd) raised white letter tires mounted onto the refinished 5-slot mags. I also have some new repro center caps, and new center cap attachment screws ready to go. Looking forward to mounting them up on the '70 Bug next chance I get...

You love changing your wheels. It’s fun, but takes up space. I never want to sell anything.

Ha ha, yes, guilty as charged! I try not to get too attached to anything, but there are also always exceptions!

Took off the 15" red steelies this past Sunday, and bolted up the newly-completed set of 14" 5-slot mags with 205/70R14 ebay raised white letter tires.

Don’t block that snowblower in. It’s only mid March! Lol

Ha ha, right! In those pictures the snowblower was actually closer to the garage opening! I can definitely appreciate that suggestion, NJ!

My former red CIP-1 China smoothies now with a new owner!

Photo by the new owner of my former 15x5.5" red smoothie wheels, with 195/60R15 BF Goodrich RWL's, following the sale this past Monday, 3/15/2021, and mounted onto their beautiful '73 Bug. I had never tried fitting hubcaps, but they do look sharp!

Took these pictures back a couple of weekends ago, when I had just enough time to bolt the new sneaks onto the '70 Bug, on Sunday evening, March 7th, 2021, and then take a swing down to the Stony Creek waterfront for a couple of quick pictures as the sun was setting. Wheels are 14x6 "US Mags," and tires are 205/70R14.

At a cruise night in North Haven, CT this past Monday evening, May 10th, 2021. Picture by an other old car buddy, low angle kinda accentuates the wheels & tires. Tires, admittedly el-cheapo China-manufactured, are not bad, and I had them properly mounted & spin balanced, so they do roll nice. I am also a very "low impact" kind of driver, so I'm definitely not pushing them to the limits.
