Was wondering if someone can help identify a mirror.

I got this with my car - decided to keep it and had a look today to see if it was period correct/start to clean it up.

The marking on it says "Talbot+Co W. Berlin"

I googled it and was able to find out that Talbot & Co mirrors are a thing. According to a [url=https://www.early911sregistry.org/forums/showthread.php?109158-1964-1965-talbot-303-NOS/page2]post on the early 911 registry forum pre -71 mirrors had the "Talbot+Co W. Berlin" markings ("green dot" from '72-79, and the new remakes read "Talbot&Co Berlin" (i.e., not "W. Berlin")

Also it seems that the aluminium ones were racing mirrors?

The only thing is I have been unable to find a photo of any Talbot mirror with anything like the same mounting as this one. It's got two rods (one a bit corroded) which articulate to provide a range of motion for the mirror.

I didn't take a photo, but the door mount has a similar style mounting to an OEM late model Karmann Ghia

with a fixing that goes around both of the articulating rods and holds them in place. So it looks as if it's designed for it, rather than something jerry-rigged together.

Does anyone have any thoughts?
