Hello, I have bought a 1.3 type AB engine with the flywheel removed and this flywheel does not have an O-ring and I would like to know what it is mounted on so that it does not lose oil, someone knows if it has a gasket or something all the flywheels I have had had a gasket torica but this one that is more modern does not carry. |

My understanding is that earlier models (prior to mid-66 ???) did not have an o-ring and used paper or metal gasket with holes for dowel pins. Mid-year 66 and later flywheels have a groove for the o-ring.
I am sure someone will correct me if this is incorrect. |

I'm assuming the OP is in Spain. VW made the smaller engines for the european market much longer than they did for the US market. It's probably a dual relief case. But I don't know if they used a o-ringed flywheel or not. You can tell by the the end of the crank. If it has a deep or shallow shoulder. It might use the metal or paper gasket on the end of the crank instead of the o-ring. |
