I have an 82 Diesel westy I'm trying to get back on the road. This thing sat in a junkyard for a good while, but is remarkably solid. I must run the stock 1.6 in order to get a title here in PA, but while I'm replacing things and going through every system, this heater looks just decrepit and I'd like to just eliminate it and find a better alternative for supplemental heat. I'm sure I could leave it there but I still gotta remove it to make sure nothing made a home in there. My parts van has one and it was filled with leaves and debris from an animal. So is there any issues with just removing this entire diesel heater system? This is new to me so figured I'd check first. Thanks for any info.

you'll need to block off the fuel feed T on the fuel line but all the electrical can just be tied off or removed.

And you can replace that power hog with a modern diesel beater later if you choose.
