I’m working on a 74 Sun Bug and don’t know what this part is Any ideas?

It looks like the cover on one of those large black expansion chambers, but I’ve never seen these large expansion chambers on a 1974 Sun Bug. Any that I’ve seen are the long, thin white expansion chambers that are mounted directly above the gas tank on the air-box cover.

That is the cover for the charcoal can under the hood/bonnet.

Your right, the one under the hood is a expansion TANK, the one in the RH rear fender well is the charcoal can and the expansion chamber is the white one you referenced.
