Not a big fan of this guy and some of his overblown opinions but on the value of old aircooled VWs I suppose we can agree

My brother in law watched one of his videos, about cleaning a catalytic converter using lacquer thinner (on a non-VW).

The next day he tried this.
The car caught on fire.
That caused the garage to catch on fire.
That caused the house to catch on fire; totaled.

He also had a video where he said he used quick-connect clamps on brake hoses, then held up the package for everyone to see where you could clearly read on the front "NOT FOR USE WITH BRAKE HOSES." That video has since been taken down, as has the one where he insisted that Subaru CVTs were manufactured by Jatco (they are actually designed and manufactured by Subaru in-house.)
Certainly not as big a misstep as saying to clean your cat with lacquer thinner though

I’ve watched a couple of his videos.
I don’t trust him.

Pick a topic. There are a lot of people on YouTube saying a lot of bogus crap and have a lot of followers. Scotty Kilmer is just one of them.
