Yeahepp... Had the engine at home for a while and dismounted it...
So now I know what it looks like on the inside as well... 😁

Much more to do if you want to have it run...
No cams, no valves etc... But still a REALLY interesting engine! Have potential as they say...
But not my cup of tea... Don't have the machines or time for that!

Interesting with steel in the cylinder heads

Straight line for the valve shafts to the cam... 🤔

Not done! Only aluminium with room for more bore...

"Flywheel" to the right of the rods! Probobly thougt as a avitation engine with the prop as mass...

Well, we will see what to do with it... To many projects and I prefer size before rpm...
So maybe I go for a 6 cylinder turboboxer at 6 liter instead! 🤔

Nice 👍 to bad not much inside ....what size bores and valve sizes on the heads ...the connecting rods seem to be later rods if they were early 25hp rods they would of had the kdf stamp ...so it could be a guys garage invention build engine but still is cool ...i wish I had it I would mess around with it 😉

I took a good look at the pictures again. I think the heads are a cut in 2 motorcycle head. They look so much for example like a Suzuki 750. What diameter are the cylinder? I bet they are very small?

I don't know... the heads look as though the finish machine work hasn't been completed. Look at the lack of exhaust studs or tapped holes, and the unfinished combustion chambers. I would think the valves, springs, buckets, cams, would all be present, and the exhaust outlets would be finished if they were re-purposed motorcycle heads. One can only speculate

I bought parts leftover from a type 1 overhead cam conversion on Samba like 14yrs ago. The seller also gave me some pictures of a finished running engine version, built for midget racing. It seems the set I bought were an early prototype, I never got around t completing them, and moved them on to Ray Schubert.

This set up looks much more refined and much closer to being completed, but still a lot of sorting out, and custom parts needed. One of the coolest engines I've seen on Samba in a long time, certainly the most unique.
