The body mount perimeter, front and rear arches are made and tacked together.

I did shorten the car from what I had. Now about 95" wheelbase. And the Napoleon hat arches had to be offset to match the crooked body shape.

Fairly well centered and level body.

2-1/2 drop spindles.

Adjusters.
Mostly to get it off the top out stops. Will not be adjusted crazy low. Got the angle of the arms down to working across level and will be using the lower half of the travel of "normal" range Stock bottom out stops front and rear. No crazy over angled arms, no zig zag or crazy angle spring plates.

Pie cut head.

Body dropped at Napoleon hat about an inch.

Floors dropped 3 in front and 4 in rear.
Floor is not lower or hanging out of the skirt of the body.

At full bottom out floor and rockers are 2 inches off ground.
Ride height is 2-1/2 inches up from full bottom.
Once me, the battery and gas are in it I should have a solid 4 inches of clearance beam and floors.....the engine and trans is around 5.

While I was cutting metal.....I cut an aluminum splitter for the front.
Still a little undecided about the particulars. The big tabs sticking out the sides are for bending up and making mount points.

Well.....first day off in a while now.
Not much done with the funny little car.
I have soldered on those electronics a bit more.
Bent and fitted a couple a few mount points for the cage to weld too.
And....moved it all and got it leveled back up on the blocks.
I had to make room and move some stuff around in the shop. Bought a couple lathes from the gsa govt surplus auction. I have them in a corner and working. Who don't need two more cnc lathes.......so any time I had went into them.

Enlighten me about the kart beside your project please. Dirt or asphalt? Track or yard fun?

That was my youngest daughters first yard cart.
I got it used....it had a little fiberglass indy looking body and short wide slicks....but was not a racer....just a neeto kids cart.

It would not go in the yard....so I put larger (lawnmower) tires on it . ....then the body would not fit.

She had fun with it a year or two.....then moved up to a race cart and organized racing.....then moved up to dirt track. She raced a spec class (limited engine mods). She got purdy good at run at valve float and sideways. She did not like all the rubbing though.....then one night someone got flipped in front of her....,and she lost interest. Then she turned 13 and went to stem school.

I have given this yard cart to a co worker for his little boy...who ain't big enough yet......my girlie is grown graduating college....

The aluminum floor boards are in.

The body mounting is drilled.

I still gotta weld all those square nuts before closing it all up

Seats are mounted to the floor.

Working on the seat to roll bar mounting....along with the harness mounting.

I think sometimes people post progress on their build page and don't hear much, then begin thinking no one is watching or cares. So I just wanted to say I am watching this thread and enjoying the progress. A mid-engine water cooled buggy is beyond my knowledge base or personal goals, but it is a cool build. I looked into possibly building a Vokaro in the 1990's when I first got settled as an adult (you know, married, bought home, have garage, and a job providing some "disposable income.") I kinda wish I had sprung the cash (painful coast to coast shipping) and bought the "Tuff Tub" from PPI at that time. I may still have their brochure.

Hey Now!.....I followed your build progress on the trike you built, and you did great work there (to say the least!). I just stumbled upon this build and when I saw you were doing it I knew I should pay attention. I learn a lot by reading your threads and watching / thinking about what you're doing when building your projects. I'm definitely not at your skill level with fabrication, you obviously have a lot of experience and skill with this! Thanks for posting your projects and explaining what you're doing, I know I appreciate it!
