there is a spring inside the valve. Make a blocking plate and put that under the valve for now.

Well, I don’t know what all that was about.

I was looking around at the EGR to remove it.

I noticed the carbon air hose was disconnected, I put it back.

Thought I would try starting it with the rod disconnected.
It worked!!’

All I did was put new wires on, new cap & rotor.
And condenser.

I haven’t done the plugs yet.

What do you all think?

Use great care disassembling an EGR valve. They can easily be destroyed. Many solvents will ruin the diaphragm too. A working EGR is a terrible thing to lose.
