...a late model bug!!!
I would like to start this thread in honor of all of us that sport the late model bugs--standards and supers. We see them driven around our home towns every day. Let's start taking pictures of them and build a thread showing the candid shots of fat chicks everywhere!
This is my vision: take a picture of a late model bug, note the town you saw it in (city, state, country), and post it here!
Who knows?! Maybe you'll see your own ride on here! _________________ 1973 Super Beetle, aka BUGLY, Daily Driver

You mean this one? (sorry for the bad pic... early morning light is no bueno for cell phone pictures.)
I love this bug. I haven't seen it there for about 6 months or so; but I've driven west bound on I-84 along side her for a few miles and it was magical. Good lookin' bug. Love the plate, too! But... she's not a fatty... _________________ 1973 Super Beetle, aka BUGLY, Daily Driver

We've really needed a late model spotters thread. Thank you for this.
I'm envious of those who can see other VWs on the road on any sort of regular basis. I stay in a small city of 42k people and I only know of one other ACVW in town, which is a '73 red Super Beetle convertible. Once in a great while I'll see late Buses or Vanagons on I-40 headed west towards Asheville.
Yesterday while enjoying a beautiful Spring day ride in my Sun Bug, I passed a beautifully restored red Citroën Duck. He had his rollback sunroof open. We smiled and waved at each other, both understanding how much the other was enjoying the ride with our sunroofs open on a perfect day. |

Up until a few years ago, I would still see them pretty regularly here and there. Seems that I rarely see them, and I live in a city of around 3,000,000. |

Here is a screenshot of a Hemmings Motor News feature that I read recently; furthering the fact that any Beetle/Super Beetle is a rare sight these days.
