Its not unheard of to add a ground wire to the sender body with a hose clamp to secure it to the sender.

My Dad was the structural dynamics guru in aerospace for decades. I went with him an strip once as a young kid, back when kids were allowed into classified areas. He got called into a vibration problem once on a “ large structure’ drive 200 miles, listened to it vibrate, then said he was going for lunch.

“While I’m at lunch, you eight guys sort out which one has the uncalibrated tool.”
