I'm looking at options to fill the 52mm clock hole in my 67 Fastback.
I have three old stock clocks, all non-functional and grungy.
ISP has a number of 52mm options, the most useful of which (to me) is an oil pressure gauge. I don't really need a tach or another fuel gauge. I wouldn't mind a clock if it had a more modern mechanism.
I have many engine functions already covered on Shadow Dash (which talks to my MS over bluetooth) so I don't need AFR or tach.
What other options are out there that wouldn't look out of place next to the stock gauges?

I'd use the tach over the clock every time |

Got that covered. The tablet will live in the console below the dash.
Engine is naturally aspirated so don't need boost. A 2-up CHT might be cool.

Bobnotch put a battery powered clock in his notch that looks stock & keeps good time!
Russ Wolfe said the cylinder head temp gauge was the best upgrade. _________________ https://imgur.com/user/FisherSquareback/posts

Alex P. straightened me out on something. The stock clock is not 52mm. More like 84.

Why not put modern parts inside the old housing? I've converted at least 6 of them over the years, including the one I had in my T-34 that I had at the Colorado Invasion. I've got one in my 65 Notch, my wife's 70 Fastback and even in my old 71 Notch (Krunchy). I even showed converting one (pics are in the Samba Gallery under accessories) that went into my T-34. It wasn't that hard, and only took an hour or so to do. Just a thought. _________________ Bob 65 Notch S with Sunroof

Yes. Your pictures are how I found the thread I linked. And I have three dead clocks to play with.
Thanks!

In my experience the clock is a fairly straightforward fix, that is if it is the fine fusible wire that has burn out, a quick solder job with fuse wire and your done. I am sure I found a link some years back on this.
I guess all depends on what originality means to you.
Good luck whichever option you run with. |

Well my clock did not work and sourced a tach that fit inside of the clock housing
as you can still see the clock chrome ring.
