Wondering if anyone has ever tried to hang a hammock inside of your van MV? Looking at the interior it looks like you could anchor it to the rear child seat upper anchor point on the driver side and then cross over to the passenger side and perhaps out through the door with some kind of a wooden or plastic dowel, then closing the door on the line and the dowel |

Maybe go up top through the pop top, if so equipped? The load on an oblique angle line is huge , remember, so take that into account. _________________ .ssS! |

Can you explain your comment about the load Oblique angle line being huge so remember take that into consideration. What does that mean in layman‘s terms? Are you saying my thought is a bad idea or are you suggesting there can somehow be compensation for the load? |

It’s easy to underestimate the tension load on a hammock line
If fatass Abscate weighing L= 55kg is in a hammock with a 10 degree decline angle, almost flat, the tension on the end lines will be
55/2 /( sin( theta)) or about 150kg, almost three times my weight on each kind.
The smaller the angle the more tension on the line. 150kg will rip a sheet metal screw out of a sheet metal hole , for example. _________________ .ssS! |
