While replacing my main heater control switch, I noticed the place for a bulb behind the control faceplate and it got me thinking, this should all be illuminated!
Removing the rear blower control I found a socked (burnt out 2721) but but no socket for the controls face.
I found these wires with no home in the dash but I'm not getting any power to them.
(I routed them out this way, they were just laying behind the head unit/under ashtray)
Before digging into the harness more, does it look like these are likely the wires that are supposed to go to the socket for the panel light?
Also, the socket for the headlight switch looks like it might also accept a similar bulb that is missing?

That brown wire is ground. If the other is blue/gray, it's most likely a positive wire, quite possibly for light at lever control panel. The light bulb socket for lever control panel is narrow and black.
If your van has, or had, the 12 volt "silver socket", the wires you show might've been for that.
If that gray looking wire is on the dash light 58b circuit, the head light switch has to be on and dimmer turned up before you'd see 12 volts at it.

I DO still have the DIN Plug power socket and it's still hot.
I tried adjusting the dimmer and still didn't see power at that end. May have to trace it back and see where it actually goes.
I was thinking it was the right color but, I am not always great with colors, haha.

Both switches( Rear and Front heater) and the Slider control will have bulbs and sockets normally. I bought the LED bulbs offered by GoWesty as a set of 3 to match when new. They are a bit dimmer than the stock 1.2 watt incandescent bulbs that were in there before, but hopefully will last a lot longer. The slider is a tight fit between the cables and controls.

Gotcha. Is there also a bulb in the headlight switch?
It looks as though it may be missing.
