I need to find the piece that goes here. Control for the lower vent, yes? What does it look like?

Yes, that. Install is covered in Bentley and Clatter's build. Wink
Just like your old 68 had.

I think if you could get someone to trace around one on a piece of cardboard, you could have it made by a fab shop. The clip you could probably get from ISP or WW for a bug. The plastic "hinge" part might be harder to find.

Looks like Aiden now has a model of the plastic part that works dimensionally.

I already have the knob assembly and the wire looks like NBD. And like you said, the metal flap looks pretty simple to fab, given Aidens measurements.

I just downloaded the free Blender program and will see if I can figure out how to define shapes. Should be interesting.

I found my flaps!

Still digging through boxes for the plastic parts. Only the plastic part is missing.

I guess I don't know what those oval things are. They certainly aren't the clips that go in the flaps.

Bentley is driving me nutz. Crying or Very sad

Where in this massive tome might I find instructions on assembling the slider/control for the vent?

Section 9, pages 31-32 Body and Frame of the Brown Bentley. It shows how it all goes together, along with hooking the wire from the control knob to the flap.
It doesn't however show you the under rear seat tubes and flaps.

No problem. Before I got my blue Bentley, I used the brown Bentley for everything body related, and the Haynes for the carbs. Twisted Evil Neither was much help for a Notch body, but I just worked thru it. Cool
