I have an original horn in my beetle I am restoring and can't get a good bench test. Any help would be appreciated. Video below describes what has been done.

If me: if horn didn't work simply hooked up to positive and negative of battery, I'd just purchase new.

Have you adjusted the points with the horn powered on and assembled?

Not mounted to the car, but I have adjusted the points in and out with the set screw with the horn fully assembled.

I was trying to keep the original but I may need to just get a diff horn.

I tried to repair my original 67 horn, but ended up buying a new one from WW.
