Hi all!
What do you think is the nicest wheel/tyre combination for my lightly slammed 67?
The wheels are rusted but I'm leaning towards these wheels again but new. But, before I decide, maybe you have an option I haven't thought of.
Here's my 67:

i always liked these on my bus, or on my beetle. Still have a set that is now over 30 years old. I think the only change i would make would be to paint them, rather than chrome. Since yours are rusty, why don't you try that first? options: silver white like stock wheels, black, maybe two tone them? _________________ regards

Heres a question for you.
If you like the chrome why are you asking for our opinion?

Thanks!! I'll stick to my 356 style rims.
Maybe powdercoating in off white is a good solution. Chrome hubcaps and whitewalls will be nice also. |

if you are going with the same 356 style wheels i would suggest having them powdercoated the same color as the top of the bus. dark blue wheels with chrome caps would look nice. i think the whitewalls and a white wheel would throw off your color balance. _________________ Missouri Micros |

"slam it"= lower the car until you can no more .... and "on earlies" = get the early Porsche 911 fuchs wheels on (with the large "clover" pattern like pictured above, unlike the later ones that have a smaller diameter "clover" pattern).
By the way those rims that you have on there now do not look that rusted in the picture?
I think that all of those aftermarket chromed steel wheels will start showing rust specs at some point.
If it were me I would just keep them as they are, give them a polish every once and a while, and not worry about them too much.
But if it is flawless chrome you want, then new rims are the way to go I guess... or have them re-chromed, but that might be more expensive than buying new ones. _________________ drive it like you just robbed the bank

Thanks for clearing that up.
No, the rims are to rusted, you can't tell from the pictures. The rest of the bus is mint, so the rims and tyres have to be new. |
