Hello T4 world!
I’ve been watching these forums for and I found these are pretty awesome cars that aren’t given the love they deserve. I don’t have one but I would like to get one someday. I started looking at them more when I pulled an engine from a 411 for my bus.
So, I have a junkyard near me with a 412 and a 1971 411. I know how hard it is to find parts and thought I could make a request list for parts. I’m 16 and I make most of my money buying and selling parts so I figure it could be a win win, I could make a little money and help the Type 4 community get some hard to find parts.
So to highlight some parts, there is a 1973 412 manual transmission. I pulled one of my engines off of it. The car it was on has been crushed so none of the other parts. The 411 and 412 that are still there have the BA4 gas heaters in them. The 411 was setup for AC and a good amount of the parts are still there. The 412 has a mint looking front bumper. The 412 interior looks great. I believe the 412 is in the junkyard because the FI system fried as the wires for it are melted, so it is very solid. There are some good rear fenders. No front windshields though. The 411 still has the auto trans and hanger. Both the cars are fairly complete as no one has come for T4 parts.
I have a 73 412 D-jet system I may consider selling if there is someone who needs a complete system because someone ripped theirs out or did a carb conversion.
I will add some pics in a few mints of the cars. So what do you guys think? Would you be interested? I will probably make a trip in about a month. _________________ 1964 sunroof Beetle Restoration "Herbie"

I would be interested in that roof rack, although the shipping cost to CA might be too high. Would greyhound be a low cost option for that, anyone know? _________________ '71 411 stationwagon |

Pull the busses out & sell them/part them. _________________ Everybody born before 1975 has a story, good, bad, or indifferent, about a VW.

For the type 4 manual transmissions....if you get a moment....hide them inside of another wreck. DO NOT stand them on either end. The tail cone is very fragile and breaks easily. If you get a chance.....put some grease on the end of the main shaft to keep from rusting. They are not easily replaceable.
