I realize this whine has to do with my personal preference... so let me express this is my OPINION-
If you remove the SO42 cabinets, is the bus still an SO42?
If you lower a camper and tub the front and can only camp at Walmart, is it still a camper?
Do black bumpers and a black pop-top make your bus look bad or just look bad?
When asking nearly 6 figures for a vehicle, should you have a detailed picture of the interior, engine, and perhaps the suspension hacks?
I suppose I came in here to whine, but frankly I'm crying for this used to be SO42...

You Sir are NOT correct, Walmart has speed bumps which would rip out the master cylinder of this "Camper". You can camp in your driveway, or on your lawn if you don't mind a little plowing. _________________ Greg

Hahaha I'm glad my add found its way into this thread! The toilet was a tough item to price out. The only other price data I could find was from 2007 where a toilet sold for about 10% of the price of a really nice westy ($15k). Now with westys selling for triple that, it only seems reasonable that westy parts should triple in value also. Add states open to offers! |
I think I get that logic. Makes a lot of sense. It’s a rare item for sure and there are some folks that don’t think that $4K is a lot of money and may consider that a must have accessory. Personally if I wanted to start pooping and peeing in my bus and was hell bent on a bucket solution I’d probably buy one of those fancy Yeti buckets for $150 and the best rounded toilet seat from a hardware store. I’d then take the balance and invest it on a two week vacation to Jamaica.
Each to their own of course. It would be neat to see how much you get for it as I do like a good old ‘I told you so story’. |

No heat for feet! Looks like a scratching post for a cat
They forgot to add belly pans to the spray-bombed chassis when they cut in the roof.

there is a pic of the toilet if you scroll through pics- also note the non factory electrical outlet hacked in just below air vents on pass side. Is that radio early bluetooth with that "speak" button? |

Can't miss the "Rossi" style headlights, but also kept the fried eggs. The sliders in the back windows are definitely Brazilian. Seems strange that someone would import a bus from Germany to Brazil when they are so cheap in Brazil to start with. _________________ 1973 Standard Beetle - running maintenance thread - https://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=675712&highlight=

Yes, this started life as a German built model 23 Kombi 11 window bus the last side windows must have been added at a later date. Who knows how it wound up in Brazil, but the gaps are horrible and it is way overpriced. It looks like another bus that is full of bondo. _________________ September 1964 Standard Sunroof walk through SWR/BG original paint. |
