That is the wrong rocker for that MY. You need the later rocker which has recess where the doors meet. |
It was funny, I noticed that shortly after updating this post. I have a funky green rocker as well and it fits much better. |

Gerson's metal has gotten better and better over the years and it is mostly what helped get my truck finished the right way. _________________ 1951 Split Standard Hoffman Build

Still chugging along on the long rocker. It is about 90% welded in. Cargo floors next! So far thinking about pausing the metal work after the rear corners and floors are fitted and getting it running and driving.
Some progress photos:

Awesome! Any plans for paint blending?
O'Reilly's here can make spray cans using either the paint code or a scan of something you bring in. _________________ Copyright CJ Industries, Inc.

Yeah, It will be blended to an extent using the filler cap as a match for the color. I plan on just cleaning up the current nose for now and paint blending the bad spots. I considered fitting a new nose to it but that can wait for another day. |

It's been awhile since the last update. I recently got reassigned to another state so it was time to move the bus. I made a cart out of 2x2 square stock and some industrial casters for easier loading onto the flatbed trailer.
Some photos of the cargo floor install. The heater channels all welded in after these were taken.
The corners were one of the toughest parts of this build for me. It took me about a year of on-off work to figure out why the right side door gap would not line up. Ended up making a few relief cuts and used some other folks buses as measurements in addition to the Bentley frame specs. It seems like mine was in a rear-end as the D-pillars were totally mangled and nothing was lining up.
Once I fit the apron, I tacked in the supports and every thing else fell into place. Still working on the right side. Currently fitting the battery tray, then onto the left side. I did manage to cut out the front floor in prep for that install once the corners are done.
