you can stack 2 shims. either a .090 and a .010 or a .060 and a .040.

Isn't stacking shims kinda sketchy to do?
Always been advised against that especially large amount like .1"

Maybe not?

It would be ideal to have the exact size spacer you need but more often than not stacking is the way to dial in your deck height.
Its not an issue, just make sure the size is consistent all the way around and burr the edges.
Then torque them down with the cylinders to confirm it's all good.
I like to used a plate that covers both cylinders.

either stack or pay.either way.the cylinder is stacked on them and the head is stacked on that...unless you have a head gasket stacked between...I wood do a .060&.040" or 2 , 50's... 2 50's might be eazer so you dont have to keep track and end up with 2 40's &2 60's on a hole or 2 Shocked I do like the machined shims better....but not always$ or time to do it.

I had considered those but extending the stroke by .0984 on each side and thus the compression ratio as well, I would rather play on the safe side and go .1 shims. In fact I have heard some guys even going .11 or more depending on what their actual deck height is when engine is mocked up.

I am picking up my heads and case today, will be doing mock up this week to see what shims I should use but my guess would be .1 to .11 and will be contacting RWK for a custom set for this specific engine.

You can’t guess on deck height. I think we were all under the impression that you had already determined what shims you need. Get that all figured out, cc your heads, then order your shims based on what compression ratio you want to be at.

Buy a piece of this and find a shop with a waterjet machine...

Try to make friends with to get cost down, if I was still running the one I ran I would make you a killer deal on a set, I used to make them for 36hp guys all the time.

So what do some folks on here just skip over most of the posts??

Again, I am going to have RKW make custom shims when I 100% verify the deck. Stroking the engine from 64mm to 69mm is 5mm difference or 2.5mm per side or .0984", hence the "looking for .1" shim post". As I said before I will be double checking my deck FIRST but good bet it will need .1" shims.
