|
|
Hey gang-- I'm desperately trying to flog through a previous owner's hack work and and now that I've torn apart/cleaned/ reassembled and installed the column I realized I forgot to insert the C-clip at the base on the splines. -But trying to be certain of placement I keep seeing pics of spacers behind that clip (usually on later bugs/Supers)
Is the '66 supposed to have one? And is there another washer between it and the clip?
The diagrams are confusing, but any pics or direct knowledge would be helpful!
many thanks! |

Thanks, I've been through these but without labeling they cause more questions than answers.
The first one seems closer to my '66 but appears to have TWO more pieces in it that I cannot account for -getting worse
Something just doesn't add up, especially with it currently assembled, sans C-clip and seems to operate correctly but I'm afraid it's only due to the tension of the column pulling everything in line due to it's placement in the dash bracket.
Help! |
