If you built the engine and used assembly lube where it’s required per manuals why would you do this. I guess if you are retired or have unstructured time you can pursue things like this😀
Picture the factory videos showing assembly they literally threw these things together by the millions and they ran well enough to get a good reputation. Do you think if you bought a turkey engine er I mean turnkey that it gets all this love? On the other hand if it only took a second to swing it around or the stand then wtf give it a go.😀
A Samba member once shared an idea with us for using a shop rag looped through the valve cover bale while pulling down. Simple and you’d have a rag close by to catch oil. The rag becomes the tool. |

I have one of those pistol-grip oil pump cans.
After cranking without pushrods to prime,
Put the pushrods into place and force-pump them full of oil thru the holes - rockers and lifters too.
Then stab the rockers right on and fire the motor. _________________ Bus Motor Build
