I think mine needs changing. Question is - where is it? Is it in the fuel tank? A difficult job to replace? |

is it still CIS Bosch injection?
That filter is under the car, near the passenger side tire.
One 10mm bolt clamps it in place, and an open-end wrench is needed to hold the filter can in place as you undo two banjo bolts to free it. |

I thought they were closer to the air filter. That may have only been with the Rabbits. Worth opening the hood to see if it's there. |

It should be tucked between the fuel distributor/air box & the strut tower on the driver side. _________________ Everybody born before 1975 has a story, good, bad, or indifferent, about a VW.

Yep, put a towel on your fender so you don't bash the paint when the wrench finally breaks free. |

Yes I think that's it! A big silver cylinder thing, with a hose coming out of either end.
Question is: will gas spurt all over when I turn that bolt? Or is it only pressurized when the engine is running or the key turned on?? |
