Need some help with what wheels are a direct fit for a 72 Super Beetle.
I have read through multiple pages but couldn't find a definitive answer.
Some have issues with clearance on end of the ball joint or hitting springs or sticking out too far.
Unfortunately the wheels on the car are some odd 14" which I don't know what size they are.
I want ones that bolt straight on without spacers.
I will be running 165 80 15 tyres.

These are the new wheels I am looking at.

914 2L EMPI 15x5.5 et35 backspacing 4.5" - Was told they are best fit but seen people needing spacer because hitting ball joint?

Sprintstar EMPI 15x5 et25 backspacing 4" - possible issue with hitting caliper?

GT8 EMPI 15x5.5 et30 backspacing 4 3/8"

Riviera EMPI 15x5.5 et17 backspacing 3 7/8"

BRM EMPI 15x4.5 et15 backspacing 3.75"

Thanks!

http://vw.zenseeker.net/Wheels-BoltPattern.htm
This link has a offset and backspace chart, may help with fit.

Thanks
Already tried using one of those calculators.
Really want to know from someone who has any of these wheels on a Super Beetle what problems they had.

you might want to ask over in the late beetle section.
Supers need a high offset to fit under the fenders, that's why the geman look guys like the porsche wheels

Thanks
I was originally interested in the Porsche 2L wheels but seen they had an issue with hitting the ball joint.
I ended up getting the Empi Sprintstar 5" wheels
They should be good as they don't stick out and have good clearance with the standard springs.
Just waiting for the tyres to come in for them now.
