|
|
Hello Everyone,
I have a VW T2 campervan with a Type 4 engine 1800cc.
I need to replace my original flywheel as there is a groove in it and it started leaking through the main seal...
I have found a few on line but I am not sure which one to take as they all look different now because the original are not manufactured anymore. Could you help me find the replacement please ? Also do I need to change the starter motor with it ?
I have put some photos of the old and new one
Thank you !
Paolo

A Speedi sleeve would solve that problem, apparently it's #99289 for a type 4. _________________ Rust NEVER sleeps and stock never goes out of style.

That's great ! Can I be sure it is 99289 ? I have found one.
Also, will I be able to fit it myself with a rubber hammer ? or do I need a specific tool please ?
Thank you ! |

That's what I found in the Vanagon forum, but upon further investigation it's for a water boxer, I don't know if they have the same crank snout. The seal for it pictured here is the same on for your bus so maybe it fits?: https://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=730816&highlight=99289
Installation doesn't require any special tools, the cup it comes packed in makes a great driver to get it on evenly.
Surely some VW or Porsche 914-4 owner has found one that fits, do some research. _________________ Rust NEVER sleeps and stock never goes out of style.
