replacing my front calipers on my 89' 2.1, took to long and I can't figure out how the hard line is positioned to hook up to the flex hose. If anyone could please help with maybe a pic. that would be awesome. I started out just changing pads, turned into all new front brake system, and all around Bilstiens

Mine's an 84 but perhaps the same. Is this the line you're dealing with?

. It should, earlier Vanagons will have a slightly different brake setup vs your later Van. But it’s a nice reference to start with. With your calipers bolted to their spindles by a single bolt as a starting point, you should be able to hold up each hardline and see which way it fits best as a link between the caliper and the flex hose.
Usually, on any vehicle , those hard bent lines are very ‘handed’ and only fit one way to a side on an axle.
Otherwise, wait for someone with a picture of the late model calipers to post a picture _________________ '68 Westy- my first VW and vehicle/Bus- long gone.- sold it to a traveling Swiss couple....
