I have diagnosed my unwanted abs shutter to a right front tone ring
No code would be thrown, but the abs would activate, upon hacking out the speed sensor I discovered a the tone ring was cracked, so on to replacing it.
Looks easy in an old world kinda way, get to use a torch to heat up the new ring to put it on the axle.
But here is the problem, I can't seem to find the part. Does VW not call the tone ring a tone ring..
i kind find whole axles with tone rings on them, but then I dont get to do the flame torch thing.

Totally missed this one.
These parts seem to be only available in the UK or EU - looks like we have forgotten how to mechanic here in the US, and a $5 tone ring problem is fixed by replacing the whole axle
Im about to put together an order for tone rings - interested in tagging on and helping t ease the international ship burden?

Can't you just buy an outer CV joint with the TR installed? _________________ Casey--

Having recently purchased parts from Greece, Germany and the UK, I don't think I can recommend going out of country if it can be avoided. Major annoyances _________________ Casey--
