can i save this boo boo? can i use as is? should i cut the cracked part off and use it?
its a brand new 88mm aa cylinder that i was mocking up for measurements and i cracked it when removing it.
let me know what i should do please.

Sorry, It's junk. It can not be repaired. Throw it away and get another.

If it isn't in the thrust direction... it's no big deal. Remove the loose pieces, round the edges. Quit buying 88 slip-ins, they are too fragile. Not too fragile for the engine, too fragile for the humans.

what morlock said... just like knotching the cylinder for rod clearance.done it many times.

I've run a 94 with an identical crack and no issues.
For a low stress application it'll be fine.

It's hard for me to see where that crack stops, but I would consider drilling a small hole at the end, to stop it from being a creep.
