Huh, woke up early, heard that it's National Odometer Day... I guess we needed a new day to do something else on.. Wonder who nominates this kind of stuff...
My Daily Westy... I could go home and snap pix of the others, but they're probably not going to change until at least next year...

NPR ran a piece about this a few years ago. ANYONE can nominate a day to be something "special" and politicians (I forget if it's the House of Reps, etc.) approves it - because they have nothing better to do.
Apparently it's such an easy process that some people have made a hobby out of it. They mentioned one woman who is responsible for something like 40 national something-or-other days. _________________ '91 Westfalia GL Automatic (GTA "Turbo" Rebuild w/Peloquin) and 2.3L GoWesty Engine |

Oooooh, you snapped the pic 189 miles too late. Being ODC I would have liked to see the symmetry of 320023. I keep watching mine for such nonsense. |

So can I nominate politician salary reduction day? _________________ This free advice is worth exactly what you paid for it.
There are seven days in a week. Someday is not one of them. |

I got pretty into that once.. took a LOT of ODCDO:
Glad I looked back... Installed my SP-9 tires at 293K, had forgotten to write that down (I'll likely hit 40K miles on these tires by the two year mark). I guess its time to start looking again. As I am moving to Carat springs soon, I'll be interested in something similar in a street tire, 215/60/R16. I rarely get off the pavement, and I do a LOT of pavement at that!!! the SP-9's are okay, I guess. As good as my BFG's were in the snow (and I mean that those were "like complete shit" as much as anyone else says). I'm still looking for another set of my same rims, I'll try snow tires next year, probs. Having a CDH was a complete game changer for when I wanted to drive/camp the Westy (ALL THE TIME). _________________ '87 Westy 'Flossie','86 Westy 'R1','86 tintop GL - Subi2.2 'J2','83.5 stock tintop L 'ZoomBus','74 Karmann Ghia, '63 Notch |

Yeah but that would probably be the ONE that they don't rubber stamp, unless maybe Hallmark and the calendar industry have a good lobbyist. _________________ '91 Westfalia GL Automatic (GTA "Turbo" Rebuild w/Peloquin) and 2.3L GoWesty Engine |

What does ODC stand for or is that just an ironic misspelling of the acronym OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder)? |

When I scrapped my very first car back in the '80s ('71 Super), I kept the speedometer as a souvenir. The mileage reads 151462.9 miles:
(I still have the speedometer).
I rolled over the same number (only in kms) 151462.9 late last year:

I'm not sure why you would say 'easy man'. There was no uneasiness in my reply. I made no criticism and merely pointed out an amusing irony. I guess in saying 'easy man' to me, that's just another similar amusing irony. |
