Maybe someone else has the part # for a retrofit, but as I read the manual, the TC only does two things: it provides enough current for the current sensor in the gas shutoff valve to remain open, and it provides enough voltage to illuminate the flame indicator.
For these features, you could fabricate your own with an off the shelf Type J or K. Either should work I would think and readily available. _________________ '86 Westy FAS GenV Turbo (Marvin) |

The original are hard to find. Yes, you can adapt an ordinary thermocouple from the hardware store, but you'll have to change the fittings that hold it in. I forget exactly what that amounted to but it isn't hard. Alternatively, Dometics come up regularly for sale cheap or free, so cannibalize one? |

Folks try to give the dometics away often enough so a part may become available. _________________ - Jim

Looking through my stash I found a new thermocouple still in the original package, $90. Also a "new looking" used, test good, $50. Shipping included in the lower 48.
Also have a rough looking, but test good, $-gratis. Just pay shipping. _________________ Schau in das Buch |
