Not really. The original question asked if there was any problem with speaker placement, and the responses identified both problems and potential alternatives. It's a constant source of amusement when people ask questions. I think they really just want the answer - "Looks awesome. Do it!"

There has been some alternative options offered and some good input about protecting the from moisture in the door. I expected some flack for cutting holes in the door...and y'all didn't disappoint (LOL).

I was really hoping for someone to respond about sound quality and/or aiming of the speakers.

Did you read my post? Eh?

Mounting them on the door results in really poor sound. They face each other and sound terrible. I eventually mounted under-dash speakers - on brackets and tilted both slightly inward and up. The sound is SO much better, and no worries about speakers in the doors.

Yes, I should have followed up with a question. Sorry. How and where were your door speakers mounted?

I think a lot of people may have poor performance due to mounting too low and without enough reinforcement (due movement of door panel).

This is why I am trying to move them up onto a stronger/higher portion of the door....and I'm considering building pods or mounts to slightly angle to speakers for better imaging.

Good questions. Mine were lower in the door - as most people - using that existing hole, so yeah that certainly would have a negative effect on the sound. they were fairly solid, but mounted to the panel, so movement could have been an issue too.

It would be interesting to hear how good your sound is if you do end up placing them there, and if any others have placed them higher. Thanks for the context. It helps.

It’s a bus, not an infinity. It’s gonna be loud on the inside and you’re gonna have external noise interference drowning out the music. Time, energy and money could be better spent installing new door seals, new window seals, installing deadening, reducing induction and exhaust noise. Basically anything you can do to reduce road noise and your music will sound better, no matter what the speakers are mounted too.

...or make sure your kick butt stereo can overcome all those external noises lol. Remember the old adage - if you hear a weird noise, turn up the radio!

This is all true and also going to be addressed....not to an SQ level build, but some deadening and noise control is for sure necessary.

A couple ear pods are the answer. Times are changing. The old days when you park your bus and crank up the stereo are over. Now a Bluetooth speaker and an iPhone are all it takes. No more big amps and stereos powering several speakers. I use a Bose sound link resolve out by my swimming pool and it fills the whole yard with music. No wires. No expensive hardware. Speaker technology has come a long way. I don’t have a home stereo system like the old days. My echo show fills the whole living room with sound plus does a lot more.

Beefed up the lower part to fit 8" woofers.
Angled the mid and high to improve soundstage

So now I'm curious- Did you also do power windows, since the cranks are blocked?

And what is the silver thing above the corner of the door panel? A puddle light?
