Looking through Craigslist and I spotted what I believe is a "Sun Bug". Am I seeing this right? $2500.00 seems cheap.

Don't know for sure if the Sun Bug package continued in '75 or not. But I have a '74 Sun Bug. Same sunroof and color as that one has. What I see missing is the 4 spoke sport wheels. The ones on it aren't the correct ones. |

I have no idea either. I also see a silver colored ring at the horn button. I think these steering wheels were part of some package, just don’t know. _________________ Jimbo

Pretty sure the Sun Bug was a '74-only model. Weren't the '75 hard top Supers all Le Grandes? _________________ Eventually, "we are what we pretend to be.’”

Looks like a repaint to simulate a Sun Bug. Last picture shows the hood was yellow at one time.

From what I see, it bears the unique SE steering wheel and rosewood dash (in addition to the sun roof), which are strong indicators that it is a '75 La Grande (painted Harvest Gold, carried over from the popularity of the '74 Sun Bugs), although those things could have been changed out over the years. I see that the under hood is yellow, so that has probably been swapped. The best way to know for sure is check the VIN. |

Other than checking the VIN, probably the easiest way to determine if it is a Sun Bug is to open the sunroof. If it has the wind deflector, it is a Sun Bug. |

That's a La Grande Bug.
It has FI and has the rear apron bulge.

That is definitely a 1975 La Grande Bug. Fuel Injection. Super Beetle. Hellas Metallic Gold code is on the left front strut tower in the trunk. |

Please post many pics! 75 would be the best year for Supers (well, hardtops...), with all the goodies like rack and pinion steering and FI. Sunroof? Anytime! _________________ '74 1303S, L98B Viperngrun (extra glitter), German Look
