busy day today,
got engine to gearbox adaptor sorted. got it all bolted up and engine back in the chassis. the engine is now a 3.5 fuel injected rover v8, going to make a new inlet manifold but keep it injection. with the engine back in the exhaust system could then be fitted. theres still a couple more jobs i need to do before the body goes back on but i am making progress.

yes i know, just have not had the the time to be able to get on the fassty with my other ongoing project but now that is in a happy place it is time to get rolling back on it.
really one of the last jobs is the rear braking system. had new inner mounting plates plasma cut at work for the rear shoes which are the hand brake, ordered some more parts tonight so should be able to make some progress through the week. not going to use the injected engine going to put an older block in with a high lift cam and a four barrel carb .

Good to see you back to working on it. Although I think I'd have put the lower shock/coil over in a double shear, versus the single shear. Looks good though.

yes i am still slowly getting on with the fassty,
alot of work has been done and i am just on with the last few bits before i can start gapping all the panels for a bit of body work.
going to keep the rover engine in it as a very good fit and with a few mods i think it will be more than enough to haul it along. few pics .

Love this build.. Cool

Rover 3500 a.k.a. Buick 215 is a great choice because it's all aluminum.
An iron engine would make the thing just way too heavy.
I vaguely remember the later Triumph TR8 having a low-profile FI manifold with runners like a spider...

Not much room up under the dash for that heater assembly(!) Shocked
Maybe put it under the rear package tray or under the back seat and duct the heat up front thru the heater channels? Think

heater came from a place in in the uk its a 3.5 kilowatt compact universal kit , i have a smaller version in my other build and its pretty good. dash has been moved into the car about 3" to give a bit more room and i have also built a bottom lip to extend the dash down a little to cover the heater from view .
making good progress now with all the panels now being gapped ready for some paint.
with the car having to go through whats called an IVA test here in the uk as its fairly modified i am going to put an early carb engine in as the emission test will be a bit easier to get through . can not just put a carb on a later engine as the emissions go of the year of the engine .
