Not much! Up until recently most people just threw away the old 36ers that hey had laying around!
Totally complete with air cleaner and exhaust...around about $100. The problem is shipping...it usually cost more to ship than the engine is worth.

Expect to Pay anywhere from 100= longblock 200-300 Complete, anymore than that is questionable if you plan on rebuilding it Your self. a decent Runner with good to Excellant Compression in all cylinders no more than 600 used Complete. Eric=(VMR) |

If it is exected to be worth anything, it had better carry numbers from a 57-earlier car. If it's a 1958-60, forget about it. |

1227 should conclude his comment with an IMHO -in my humble opinion. A 58-60 36 horse engine carries most of the same parts as a earlier version. There are a few exceptions. Anyone who owns a 1958 to 1960 beetle or bus would definately disagree with him. Anywhere from $50 for a bare long block up to $200 depending upon what pieces it has or is missing for a non running engine IMHO. Tim |

Ha. Nowadays, as with anything old and in good condition, rare and worth a lot more. _________________

It seems anymore it takes two cores to build one motor. _________________ 1952 356 coupe

More.
I just tore down four engines and still had to look elsewhere for decent cylinder heads. _________________ modok wrote:

Bare, otherwise unusable 36hp cylinder heads make great wheel chocks. _________________ Thanks,
