Every home/business in Buenos Aires(and some other towns too), Argentina has one due to inadequate and undependable city water supply. It gets them through the peak water draw hours. Some are beside the building on towers, most on the roof or in the attic.
We still have one here in Coronation. It is no longer in use and slated for removal but the town council is at a stalemate because of the 1 million dollar quote to remove it. Some want it to stay as a landmark. I could get a picture pretty easily.
The Provost water tower east of us languished in a lowboy trailer for about 8 years waiting for the town to set up a museum. The Halkirk water tower to the west was bought by a local farmer last year to use on his cattle feed lot operation but the move did not go well and it was damaged beyond use.

The Grafenwoehr Wasserturm and my Touareg-just after passing inspection!
Built in 1911-here is some history:

The building in front is the Commanding General's quarters for the 7th ATC.

Side note...during WWII Hitler spoke to the troops from the door with the little balcony. There is a picture in the museum in the tower.
Next challenge:
Your VWNT an adventure sport (rafting, surfing, skydiving etc)...you don't have to be participating 😀 _________________ '56 pan Dune Buggy since '69

Skydive Perris. I kinda participate in it every day because the aircraft have to call me on their initial climb out. The jump zone is very close to our final approach course.
I think it's the busiest skydiving outfit in the United States.
I have another picture of jumpers away, but they are very hard to see because I'm using my phone.

Better late than never . . . MVWNT a West Coast Water Tower
The posting of the Hot and Cold water towers is great! We've just added Pratt, Kansas, to our itinerary for Vacation 2021, as we enjoy seeing oddities while driving around the country

I thought maybe I could get a water tower pic today but was beat! (The winner is a much more interesting tower than I'd have got.)
In Pratt, KS there is a set of Hot and Cold water towers!

That’s awesome!
It reminds me of the old trade show gag of the tap in mid air with just water coming out of it, no pipe leading up to it. _________________ .ssS! |

Where are you and the gang headed this weekend Xevin?
Sadly we cannot have fires at the Bug Run. But this should be an epic campout just the same. See ya June 5th.

That Fn Xevin does have a bonfire pic to post.
He's currently out of cell coverage range to post it. I asked him to send it to me and I'll post it for him. But the signal is too weak to transmit it.
So if yo have a bonfire pic to post. Go for it!
YVWNT: A bonfire campfire.
And, no an engine case fire would not be a good idea where Xevin is camping this weekend. Sorry Calvinator. _________________ I have learned over the years.

Nope! I didn't ask.
It's up to him when he gets in cell tower range to post here. _________________ I have learned over the years.

Dang it.
Too late, as usual.
Yesterday our '66 was parked all day next to Tacker's 2003 Mexi-Beetle at a huge all-lines show at Camp Courageous, but I failed to take a picture. |
