I recently was told there is a difference in track width between '50 to '55 Barndoor and '56 and later transaxles, but since Neil has confirmed that he has used both types of axles with Barndoor RGBs, I'll just go ahead and assemble what I have to confirm that what I've collected actually fits. Just did not want to have to collect another transmission just to get axles ( which, as it turns out, I won't need ).

Thanks to Neil, the question of main ( long ) axle lengths has been settled. My misunderstanding evolved from being told the wheel track of the Barndoor transaxle is narrower, which is somewhat correct, but it is due to a shorter stub axle bringing the wheel and brake drum in closer.
