All-
Bought this from WW: https://www.wolfsburgwest.com/cart/DetailsList.cfm?ID=ZVW64
I have a 1967 deluxe. Description says it fits up to a 67.
In the third photo, you'll see me with the metal frame pushed all the way to the top of the dash -- in no way able to angle that bracket to be able to screw into the dash bottom. I plan to call WW to see if I need a different one.
Anything obvious that I am screwing up?
Thank you
-Mark

And you tried tipping the bottom in first? What if you started over by the radio opening and slid it to the right? Are they making you drill your own holes? |

They are a pain to get in, Barry’s right, tip it and get the lip in first. _________________ Go Reds! Smash state!

I put this same speaker and grill in my 67 and it was a PITA.
BarryL is right; start by putting the grill in over the radio hole opening and then slide it to the right. Once you do that, then you will have to screw the speaker into the grill while your back is against the nose of the bus looking up into the underside of the dash.
If my memory serves me right, before I slid the grill over, I had the speaker barely screwed in by the bottom two screws. The top two screws were then screwed in once the grill was slid into place.
I would recommend using a piece of felt or electrical tape around the edges of the grill to help with the vibration noise. Originally they came with felt around them. _________________

Thanks to all. starting closer to the radio and tipping and sliding got it in. And yes, was a PITA |
