I’m looking for someone to package up a 36 horse in the San Jose/Salinas area and get it ready to ship. Trying to purchase a mostly complete engine but seller won’t ship. Will to pay for someone’s time and materials. Checked the local u-ship but no reply. |

Contact a club in the area... maybe for a nice fee they will help.

If a local Vw enthusiast doesn't offer to help..
Open an account on U ship and start a shipment. Most times bids will come rolling in pretty quick. You can accept or not
A VW engine is an item that can literally be thrown in a back seat or bed of a truck to go along for the ride.. Hot freight truckers will add it right into their route .. The only downfall....time.. trucks don't move until a load is full. Thats the way they make the most money.
Just curious ... how far is it going? from? to? _________________ aka Ken {o\!/o}

Another thought... find a VW shop in your area that ships engines/blocks. If you do not imply you expect them to insure it, they may package it for you and recommend a shipper they use... then you can take over (and take on the liability). Buy them a six pack for their trouble! |

I bought a complete engine from a guy who used Worldwide Express to ship it from southern CA up here to my place, about halfway between San Jose and Salinas. Don't know if they packaged it or not, but it arrived strapped down to a standard wooden pallet and wrapped in plastic.
