surely it is better to breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth. the nose and sinuses are there for the purpose of filtering, warming and humidifying the air before it enters the lungs.

Thanks to this video, I learned I've been breathing wrong all my life. I feel fortunate to have survived all these years. I've been exhaling then inhaling, then this guy came along to show the proper way - inhale, then exhale.

So, this is what the yoga instructor
told us to do...I think you get more
deeper breaths through your mouth.
Did anyone get over the 2 minute mark?
I found sitting up made it easier to hold
my breath longer

Was at 1:45 on round 2 &3 until covid infection...
Barely can reach 30 secs on all 3 rounds now but I
will continue this daily until my lungs get better

The point I was trying to make using dear departed Lemmy is that maybe the "answer" is how , not how long, ones life needs to be led to find meaning. Lemmy lived to the fullest with JD, meth ,and tobacco till age 70. The essance to his "not dying" comment was that " its in your head, man".

Medicine Prize: Olcay Cem Bulut and colleagues, for demonstrating that sexual orgasms can be as effective as decongestant medicines at improving nasal breathing.

I found that by not leaning into my computer screen, inhaling my own CO2 when viewing horseshiite youtube material, I can breath deeper and have plenty of energy left over for those spontaneous orgasms.

This is some funny shit! If I ever see a patient breathing like this guy, he will probably end up getting intubated.  Nobody breathes like that -
The I:E ratio is all wrong ~ like 1 to 1. You will end up w/ respiratory alkalosis and pass out. You will get dizzy when your CO2 gets too low -- coz the blood vessels in the brain will constrict and starve the brain of Oxygen and blood flow.
The minimum I:E ratio (inhalation to exhalation) should be 1:2 or more. Exhalation should be passive. NOt forceful.
The proper and best way to breathe is to push your stomach out. Don't use your chest. You only get to use your chest and accessory muscles if you are really out of breath.
For you rifle shooters, push your stomach out when you breathe in ..without moving your chest- this will give you all your air and not disturb your sight picture.
