Haven't driven my '60 Bug ("Doug the '60 Bug") in a couple of years--finally pulled him out yesterday (5/22/2021) and was able to get him fired up with minimal effort. Doug got the red wheels & knobbies fitted since I've since sold the "Creeky" '69 Bug, on which these sneaks last appeared in this thread. I also still have the silver ones with the Excelsior radials--may switch over to them again at some point, once the "buzz" from the knobbies starts to wear on my brain, ha ha!

I forgot that I had tried them out on my '70 Bug last year also--not really in keeping with the "refined" nature of this car--they didn't stay on too long. But at least long enough for a couple of pictures (I will have to dig out a picture of the '70 with the sliver wheels also, which I also ran with for a bit last year):

Good eyes, Mike! Yes, a cousin of Lassie's! Finn is a 5-year-old rough collie.

Steve,
Where did you get your tire tubes from? What size tubes did you use?

Thanks,
Dominic

Hi Dominic,

This is what I used, although they don't appear to be currently available:

All I can confirm so far is the noisy on pavement part, Mike! I have not tried them in dirt & sand at all!

They appear to be reproductions of the original Englebrechts, which I believe this man has fitted to his KdF-Wagen restoration: https://kdfregistry.com/restoration-of-1212/
