To bring back the swivel thread
I think $500 sounds very reasonable and would be agreeable with most i recon.
As for demand, you guys are counting the original swivel seat. Yes these guys need them for sure but, stock fans close your ears there is also a lot (I know a good few) of people who want to cut out there cab divide and a do a nice quality swivel set up.
Plus getting the 5-10 ordered seats should be fairly easy as, although not always factory correct, I would think most people would want a set of two seats.
The factory complete van owners might also want a passenger seat aswell.
The obvious market may not seem big but anyone who has ever ridden in a swivel and seen the huge interior size difference will appreciate the custom markets attraction.
I believe a swivel is camper van heaven and it is a huge mystery to me why Volkswagen didn’t ever seem to realize or publicize this throughout the whole history of the splitscreen. |

Fixed that for you
Agreed swivel +camper = uber hangout space. My swivel panel had an early American, EZ style kit installed.
The swivel highroof also had a camper kit...well it was more like a cabin kit.

I'm building my own swivel seat camper, wouldn't pay 1k for a pair of front seat bases, without seats, for a custom job. I would however put up a nice deposit for a pressed truck rear bumper for the half cab, assuming I could get it in a reasonable time frame,,, remembering some other gerson parts I've waited for |

so do you have a set of original swivel seat bases and the seat frames for your custom job? If not, you should expect to pay far more than 1k for a pair of complete og swivel seats... _________________ drive your split. |

No Sled, you misunderstand. My custom job will have swivling front seats, it's custom because it did not come that way. If it was a factory swivel seat bus, putting swivel seats back in it would not be custom now would it? |

thats what im asking, are you putting in some random swiveling bases? like out of a vanagon or a marine seat?
Or are you putting in split bus swiveling seats.
I think youre case is totally different than what anyone is discussing here. _________________ drive your split. |

Yeah it is. Non-stock application of non-stock parts.
Now back to the subject = the need for pressed truck rear bumpers |

Bringing up this old thread to see if there is any interest in repros. I have access to a seat and do metal fab as a trade, been looking it over and thinking. How many would put it, or them is their bus that never had them? Share your thoughts. |

Read all the previous post, but no sizes of a swivel Seat at all. Would like to reproduce 2 swivel Seats by some handy guys in the netherlands. Do someone want to share the sizes of the base plates and Seat. Are there technical drawing of a swivel Seat, including sizes. Even inches are ok. I would like to pay for it. Not to Munch I hope. |
