^ ^ I have several screen shots of VWs from "Brannigan" in my gallery:
1. Brannigan commandeers a yellow Ford Capri Mk2 to follow one of the thugs who's driving off in a Jaguar S-Type sedan. White '66 Beetle parked across the street.

2. During the chase, Brannigan (with the terrified Capri owner beside him) pass a blue early '60's Beetle parked on the street.

3. Red '73+ Beetle with the Palace of Westminster ("Parliament") in background. Motorbike rider is British actor Tony Robinson, known as "Baldrick" in the "Blackadder" comedy series.
Image may have been reduced in size. Click image to view fullscreen.

4. White Karmann Cabriolet and light blue Beetle at Piccadilly Circus. Pogel has a similar shot in his gallery, plus several more from this movie.
Image may have been reduced in size. Click image to view fullscreen.

5. 2 Beetles parked above the highway as Jennifer picks Brannigan up from the airport. She is his London-based police driver (Judy Geeson, familiar as one of the students in "To Sir with Love").
Image may have been reduced in size. Click image to view fullscreen.

6. White Beetle in Piccadilly Circus passes by as Jennifer and Brannigan wait in her car.

7. Green Type 3 at the Tower Bridge. Both the Jag, and Brannigan following in the Capri jump across the rising bridge and separating road surfaces.
Image may have been reduced in size. Click image to view fullscreen.

8. Blue Beetle on the road during the car chase with Brannigan taking to the wide sidewalk. Low taillights might be a snowflake-based '58 -'61 Beetle which used most of the mounting holes for the '62+ taillamps. Looking at Pogel's photo a moment later, Beetle has 4-tip exhaust.

Laughing I just posted the same video, different title here.
https://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=202157
And I see it was already posted before mine. Multiple titles, same film. Still a very cool video. Really enjoyed the presses and the working Plattenwagon. Even though it was in Germany, I think I could figure out what they were saying.

from a very strange black and white 1965 film called 'situation hopeless but not serious'. starring alec guinness as a lonely german who decides to keep two downed usaf crew prisoner in his cellar for company (one of whom is robert redford). when the war ends he cannot bear to release them so keeps them under the illusion the war is still going on. it's not very funny and rather weird in light of the fritzl case - especially as the german is called frick. however a nice split beetle and a police square window beetle (though it's supposed to be 1951) plus a glimpse of a kubel too.

I watched the HBO movie last night. "You don't know Jack". About Dr. Jack Kevorkian. Very good. Lots of shots of his 1968 camper bus. I don't know how much was fact or just Hollywood, but I liked this quote.

Dr. Jack Kevorkian wrote:
I hope she likes parks and Volkswagens.

As a point of fact, Kevorkian actually had a VW bus that was his daily driver. On another interesting point, I was an extra and a stand in on that film when it filmed in the Detroit area. (most of it was shot in NY) And I actually got to drive the bus! I got to be Al Pacino's stand in, and set up each shot that he was in. When they hired me, they asked me if I could drive a stick. No kidding!

The shot of John Goodman and Al Pacino sitting in the bus, in a parking lot watching from across the street as police remove the body of a dead woman that Kevorkian had helped kill from a motel room. The bus pulls out onto the street and drives off, with the two actors in it. But in reality, in that shot it's me driving, and another stand in in the passenger seat, playing John Goodman. Just an FYI and funny tidbit. I've been an extra in a few movies:

Police/forestry bureau dark green 1963 sunroof Beetle tries to follow antagonists in a Ford station wagon in movie "Bloody Friday" (1972). Filmed in Bavaria Germany; IMDB lists one of the locations in the village of Schaeftlarn which is slightly south of Munich.

Brief shot of a VW school bus is the weird educational safety film 'The Talking Car' from 1969. (unfortunately, the VW doesn't talk)

Non-bus look-a-like in the Karl Marx Stasse film. I thought it was a bus, but look at those wheel wells.
